OMI gets safety award

From staff reports

Operations Management International Inc.'s Oak Ridge project was chosen for the Operational Excellence Award and the George W. Burke Jr. Safety Award by the Kentucky-Tennessee Water Environment Association, according to a news release.

This is the second consecutive year that the Oak Ridge team has earned the Operational Excellence Award.

OMI manages the utilities systems at the Oak Ridge K-25 site, also known as the Heritage Center.

"I am very proud that our team compiled a safety record worthy of the George Burke Safety Award," Project Director Henry Huffman stated in the news release.

"We also established a fantastic compliance history to win the Operational Excellence Award. This award is made more significant when you consider the plant age and complications with commercial/industrial flows."
