From staff reports
Operations Management International Inc.'s Oak
Ridge project was chosen for the Operational Excellence
Award and the George W. Burke Jr. Safety Award by the
Kentucky-Tennessee Water Environment Association,
according to a news release.
This is the second consecutive year that the Oak
Ridge team has earned the Operational Excellence Award.
OMI manages the utilities systems at the Oak Ridge
K-25 site, also known as the Heritage Center.
"I am very proud that our team compiled a safety
record worthy of the George Burke Safety Award," Project
Director Henry Huffman stated in the news release.
"We also established a fantastic compliance history
to win the Operational Excellence Award. This award is
made more significant when you consider the plant age
and complications with commercial/industrial flows."
